Experience the Moc Chau International Hot Air Balloon Festival from September 1 to 3, where tourists can enjoy tethered or free-flying rides.
Many activities unfold during the 3-day Moc Chau Hot Air Balloon Festival at Central Square, Sector 14, Moc Chau town, Son La province. The most exciting include tethered and free-flying experiences for visitors, from 5:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 5 PM to 6:30 PM each day of the festival.
During the festival, 3 tethered hot air balloons are stationed in the square. Tickets for each experience are priced at 150,000 VND. Two free-flying hot air balloons depart from the square and land in the Moc Chau Farm town. The cost is 6.5 million VND per person for a 40 to 60-minute flight.
Balloon pilots come from Taiwan, Thailand, the Netherlands, India, and Vietnam. A team of 15 trained professionals is dedicated to serving hot air balloon passengers.
In addition, the festival features live music programs on the evenings of September 2nd and 3rd.
Moc Chau, situated approximately 200 km away from Hanoi along National Highway 6, celebrates Independence Day on September 2nd as a major festival, following the Lunar New Year. During this occasion, the Mong and Thai people don their finest attire, creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere for Tet festivities.
