It is called 'Ganh Yen' because in the past, the rocky cliffs in this area often had many small caves, which were the habitat of birds such as swifts and sparrows... The rocks here are ruggedly stacked layer upon layer, forming a towering mountain wall stretching out to the sea.

During the beginning of the month or on full moon days, many clusters of coral bloom like cabbage sprouts on the sea surface near the coast. From April to July lunar calendar every year, when the tide recedes, Ganh Yen, Quang Ngai reveals a vast expanse of coral reefs on the sea surface, creating a picturesque yet mesmerizing natural scene.

The coral reefs at Ganh Yen boast a variety of shapes and colors, captivating visitors. Some clusters of coral bloom golden like giant daisies, while others display shades of brown and red protruding from the sea, and some take on a velvety black hue like cat mushrooms... Here, sea grapes grow densely clustered on the coral reefs.

However, in recent years, due to climate change, coupled with local diving for sea cucumbers, harvesting of seaweed, and tourists trampling, the area of coral reefs at Ganh Yen, Quang Ngai has significantly declined.

At the same time, raising awareness among locals and tourists about the responsibility to protect nature, human living environment, and marine life.
