Hang Astonished is located on Bo Hon Island in the heart of Ha Long Bay. The cave was named by a French explorer who, upon exploring the cave, discovered that exiting this cave led to another larger cave, leaving him astonished and in awe, hence the name 'Astonished Cave.'

To enter the cave, you must climb 200 steps of interlocking rocks under the cool green foliage, where you'll catch a panoramic view of Halong Bay from above. Legend has it that after defeating the An aggressors, Saint Giong rode a cloud back to the heavens, leaving behind his sword and precious horse. Hang Surprising is where the ancient battle took place, and the small ponds within the cave are the hoofprints left behind by the horse.

Hang Surprising is divided into two main chambers. The first chamber resembles a grand theater with its ceiling adorned with glittering stalactites. These stalactites take on various shapes resembling animals, sparking your imaginative creativity.

Entering the second chamber requires passing through a narrow crevice, but beyond that crevice lies a vast cave. This chamber is adorned with sculptures associated with the legend of Saint Giong. Right at the cave's entrance is a rock formation resembling a horse's head and Saint Giong's sword. As you ascend to the cave's peak, you'll once again be mesmerized by the breathtaking scenery of Halong Bay unfolding before your eyes.

You'll easily spot troops of monkeys or descend to forage for fruits, but be cautious with your personal belongings to avoid being harassed by mischievous monkeys. Additionally, you'll get to admire various species of birds soaring freely amidst the rocky outcrops within the bay.
