COVID-19 Prevention Measures at Phuket's Elephant Conservation Reserve
Travelers who have booked activities at Phuket's Elephant Conservation Reserve must adhere to the health and safety procedures of the service provider as follows:
- - The provider's staff will check temperatures at the hotel/pick-up point before boarding. If the temperature exceeds 37.5°C, passengers will be rechecked after 5 minutes. If the temperature remains at 37.5°C or above, Phuket's Elephant Conservation Reserve has the right to refuse the customer's participation, and in case of high temperature, the provider may refund the entire amount to the customer (not applicable to the entire order).
- All passengers must wear masks throughout the activity, excluding meal times. If there is no mask upon pickup, passengers can purchase one from the driver for 20 Baht. Refusal to wear a mask will result in denial of entry to the reserve, and the activity will be canceled without a refund.
- Each vehicle will carry 5 to 6 passengers depending on the vehicle type. No passengers are allowed to sit in the front with the driver.
- All passengers must provide their full name and passport number in the service provider's notebook as required by the government.
- All passengers must wash their hands with soap and water before touching the elephants' food.
- Passengers will be divided into groups of 6 people.
- All passengers should pay attention to social distancing with a minimum distance of 1 meter.
- The facility will be sanitized at the beginning and end of each tour.
- The buffet will be changed to pre-packaged meals to avoid cross-contamination.
- Elephant bathing activities will only allow customers to participate with a showerhead or hose.
- Mud baths with elephants will be changed to observing elephants playing in the mud.
