Step 3: In the VPN Gate Academic Experiment Project Plugin for SoftEther VPN Client screen, you'll see a list of active IP networks you can connect to. Choose one and click the Connect to the VPN Server button.

Here, some values to note are: IP Address (Hostname), Region, Uptime, VPN Sessions, Line Speed, and Ping. They inform you about the country of the selected IP address, how long the server has been continuously active, and the stability of that IP Address. A higher Uptime indicates greater stability. Meanwhile, a larger VPN Sessions value means you'll be sharing the connection with more users. Line Speed and Ping indicate the connection speed of the chosen IP address.

You can click on Refresh List to update the list.

Step 4: If the selected VPN Gate Server supports both TCP and UDP protocols, a pop-up window will appear. There, you choose either TCP or UDP protocol.

If a VPN connection is successfully established, the following notification will appear. This window will automatically disappear after 5 seconds. If you can't connect to the specified VPN server, try another server.

Step 5: If you no longer want to use the Fake IP and wish to return to your original IP, simply right-click on VPN Gate Connection and select Disconnect.
