Windows 10 brings substantial changes, adding, refreshing, and perfecting the virtual assistant feature. This empowers users to search, interact, and command by voice while browsing the web, seeking information, and querying data on Windows 10 swiftly and conveniently.
Similar to most apps and utilities, when installing Windows 10, users can utilize Cortana completely free. The only action required is to enable, or as we call it, activate it. As mentioned earlier, activating Cortana is straightforward. Below are some guidelines on using Cortana that Mytour wants to share with you.
1. Activate, open, turn on, 'call' Cortana.
Users have various ways to 'call' and instruct Cortana. They can use the shortcut 'Windows + C' or say “Hey, Cortana” into the microphone of their computer or laptop.
After summoning Cortana, you'll see its main interface. Here, users can query information, give commands, perform web searches—all through voice commands transmitted to Cortana.
2. 'Teach' Cortana, 'tame' Cortana to know your commands
Using virtual assistants in general and Cortana specifically sometimes poses undesired risks, such as someone unintentionally issuing commands, leading Cortana to misunderstand and work tirelessly to provide information to... someone other than its rightful owner. Users need to be mindful of this. 'Teach,' 'tame' Cortana to only recognize commands from you.

Similar to virtual assistants on iOS (Siri) or Android (Google Now), and even Cortana on mobile phones, issuing commands to Cortana on PC, computers, or laptops doesn't differ much.
You can speak directly into the microphone once Cortana is activated. It takes care of the rest, and you just need to receive the results.
