Getting Ready for Hacking
Identify your PSP model number. This number dictates the software compatibility before and after hacking.
Ensure your PSP is updated to version 6.60 to initiate the hack process.
Acquire the custom firmware, specifically PRO-C, available from various online sources. Transfer the firmware to your PSP via USB mode, placing it in the PSP/GAME/ directory.
Firmware Installation Process
Execute the copied firmware file. Navigate to the Game menu and locate the “PRO Update” icon. Select it using the X button. Follow the prompts to install the firmware.
Perform IPL flashing. Utilize the “CIPL Flasher” from the Game menu for PSP 1XXX and 2XXX models to alter the Initial Program Loader.
Activate Fast Recovery. PSP 3XXX and PSP Go users should run Fast Recovery after each boot, as IPL flashing is not supported on these systems.
Remove installation files. Once IPL flashing is complete, delete the CIPL Flasher and PRO Update files from your PSP. Retain Fast Recovery for PSP 3XXX or PSP Go.
