The S21 Ultra 5G inherits the 108MP sensor and 100x zoom speed from its predecessor, the S20 Ultra, enhancing the user experience for avid phone photographers.
1. Use the Zoom feature for precise photo capture
The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G boasts two 10MP zoom cameras, one with 3x optical zoom and the other with 10x optical zoom. The device can zoom in up to 30x and an impressive 100x. Using the photo zoom function is incredibly easy. The S21 Ultra 5G provides optical zoom settings of 0.6x, 1x, 3x, and 10x.
It's important to note that between different zoom levels, digital zoom is applied, not optical zoom. This means that when you capture a photo with 5x zoom, you are actually digitally zooming from the camera's 3x. This could result in digitally distorted images.
To maximize photo quality, simply stick to the default zoom levels of the camera, for example: 0.6x, 1x, 3x, and 10x. Then you can comfortably perform digital zoom operations.
The zoom mode of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G works for both photo capture and video recording. However, you cannot adjust the zoom if the super steady feature is enabled during video recording.
2. Capture multiple photos from various angles with the One-Tap Shot feature
One-Tap Shot is a feature that allows your phone to capture multiple photos and videos with different effects with just one tap. This feature helps you take many interesting photos and videos without the need for specific poses or effects.
Using this One-Tap Shot feature is incredibly simple. All you have to do is open the camera app, select the One-Tap Shot mode, and then press the capture button. The camera takes about 10 seconds to capture the photo after you press the capture button. During these 10 seconds, you can move the camera between faces in the photo so that your phone can gather more data, capturing various photos.
After capturing photos, you can go to the gallery to view the files just taken and scroll down to see different photos. Each One-Tap Shot file contains still images, video clips, and GIFs. You can save all or choose the ones you want to share with friends.
Moreover, users can blend various color filters and short video clips to share on social media without much editing.
3. Samsung S21 Ultra 5G effortlessly captures moving subjects with clarity
If you want to capture photos of continuously moving subjects, such as walking, your children, or loved ones enjoying street scenes, and you can't ask them to stand still for a shot. It's best to capture these natural moments, but capturing continuously moving subjects can be challenging. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has tools to make everything easier. Simply go to Settings and scroll down until you find Tracking Auto-focus. From now on, the camera on your smartphone will keep your subject in focus, no matter how fast they move.
4. Night mode photography brings you vivid images.
Night mode is considered a handy ally for users, especially on flagship phones, where large sensors are used to capture more light for photos. Additionally, this mode is combined with algorithms to produce beautiful photos in low-light conditions. The Samsung S21 Ultra 5G uses AI to combine photos taken to capture high-quality images in low-light conditions.
In night mode, the phone takes a few seconds to capture more light. Due to the longer exposure time, the phone needs to be held steady to produce the sharpest images possible. You can still handhold when shooting Night mode on this phone, but in extremely dark situations, you should place the phone against a wall or another object to minimize hand shake.
If you haven't used a Samsung phone before, you won't immediately see the Night Mode when you open the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G camera app. Samsung has set up this mode along with many other shooting modes in the 'More' section.
