Preparing Your Text
Unlock the Cricut Design Space and start a new project. Opt for “New Project” to enter a blank canvas where your creative journey begins.
Get creative with your designs! Start by clicking on “Text” from the sidebar on the left. Look for the big “T” icon, just below “Images.” This will open up a text box for you to fill with your ideas. Need to adjust the size? Simply drag the bottom right corner in or out to fit your vision.
Express yourself! Once you've got your text box, it's time to add your message. Type in whatever you want your Cricut machine to write—whether it's a simple “hello” or a festive “Happy Birthday!” Adjust the size by dragging the corner to make it just right. For instance, if you're working with a 5 by 5 inch piece of cardstock, aim for a 3-inch length.
Make it stand out! After typing, select your text and look for the “Writing” option. Click on your text to reveal the toolset. Then, find the dropdown menu at the top and switch from “Normal” to “Writing.” This ensures your text will come out solid and bold, perfect for any project.
Perfect your layout! Arrange your text boxes to achieve the look you want. Drag them around until they're spaced just right. Check your sizing and spacing to ensure readability. Presentation matters, so take your time to get it just so.
