In reality, MediaTek is rebranding its existing Dimensity 700, 800, and 900 series SoCs to the new Dimensity 6000 and 7000 series. This move aims to simplify the company's product portfolio and provide a more transparent naming system for consumers. The core and most specifications remain unchanged. MediaTek Dimensity 7050 is the rebranded version of Dimensity 1080.

The Dimensity 7050 SoC is manufactured using TSMC's advanced 6nm process technology. It features two high-performance Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.6 GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. It comes with a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, supports LPDDR5/4x RAM, and UFS 3.1/2.1 internal storage.
Speaking of display capabilities, the chipset can handle resolutions up to 2,520 x 1,080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its camera support is impressive, capable of processing resolutions up to 200MP, recording 4K HDR video, and featuring advanced functions like hardware-based HDR video, triple HDR-ISP, and MENR.

On the video front, Dimensity 7050 provides encoding support for HEVC and H.264 formats, as well as playback compatibility with HEVC, H.264, MPEG-1/2/4, and VP-9 codecs.
Devices equipped with the Dimension 7050 chipset are expected to deliver impressive gaming performance. MediaTek has integrated features such as Rapid Wi-Fi Channel, Gaming-friendly 5G HSR mode, and Ultra Access Power Saving technology to ensure seamless gaming experience for users.
Furthermore, the processor also supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), further expanding its compatibility capabilities.
