Metro Line 1 set for full-line trial run in September
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hien, Deputy Head of the Urban Railway Management Unit of Ho Chi Minh City (MAUR), revealed that Metro Line 1 from Ben Thanh to Suoi Tien has achieved 95% completion; the remaining 5% comprising architectural, installation, testing, evaluation, and final testing will be completed within the year.

In addition, MAUR leaders indicated that the investor and HURC1 company (the operator of Metro Line 1) are currently undertaking tasks such as finalizing the trial operation project for urban railway infrastructure assets; collaborating with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport to finalize the fare plan for Metro Line 1 during the initial operational phase…

According to the plan, Ho Chi Minh City will have a total of 8 metro lines with a combined length of 220 km, along with 3 Tramway and Monorail lines. Apart from the nearing completion of Metro Line 1, Metro Line 2 from Ben Thanh to Tham Luong is set to commence construction in 2025, while the remaining lines are yet to be implemented or constructed.
