A recent analysis by Business Korea discusses the 'display battle' between Samsung and LG shifting from QLED, OLED to MicroLED.
MicroLED poised to dominate the upcoming 'display battle'
Business Korea recently published an analysis on the 'display battle' between Samsung and LG, highlighting the transition from QLED, OLED to MicroLED.
According to Business Korea, LG Electronics is planning to launch its first MicroLED TV in September this year. Samsung Electronics has also introduced their MicroLED TV model earlier, the report states.
The Wall currently holds the title for the world's largest TV screen, measuring a whopping 146 inches.
LG is rumored to be adopting LG Innotek's Micro LED technology, a subsidiary of the LG conglomerate, known for its precision akin to the FaceID sensor on the iPhone X. If LG launches a large-sized MicroLED TV akin to Samsung's The Wall, they would evidently hold an advantage, possessing two leading technologies in this field, as Business Korea asserts.
MicroLED TVs are constructed from ultra-small LED particles, measuring micrometers (μm) and significantly smaller than conventional LED screens.
According to the Yano Research Institute, experts here predict a monumental surge in the MicroLED display market from $7 million to $4.583 trillion during the 2017-2025 period.
Samsung has recently announced that they will cease production of any OLED TVs. 'Our TV product line will be divided into 2 sectors: QLED and MicroLED, excluding OLED,' stated a Samsung representative.
In addition, Samsung also declared the release of MicroLED TVs in August this year.
