The leader of Xbox at Microsoft, Mr. Phil Spencer, declares no Call of Duty exclusivity.
As you are aware, in January of this year, Microsoft activated the largest deal in the history of the global gaming industry. Microsoft officially announced the successful acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. This is considered the largest unprecedented merger in the gaming world, demonstrating Microsoft's dominance ambitions in this multi-billion dollar industry.

In order to acquire the parent company of Diablo and Call of Duty, Microsoft bought a massive amount of Activision Blizzard shares at an average price of around $95/share. This drove Activision Blizzard's stock up by over 25% in just a few days. This is seen as Microsoft's largest acquisition deal to date. Previously, the parent company of Windows acquired LinkedIn in 2016 for $26.2 billion.
After Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, many questioned whether the company would release exclusive titles such as Diablo or Call of Duty (which have built Activision Blizzard's reputation). With the fierce competition between Xbox (Microsoft) and PlayStation (Sony), these concerns are entirely valid.
However, Microsoft has just taken action to dispel all doubts. The leader of Xbox at Microsoft, Mr. Phil Spencer, declares no exclusivity over Call of Duty. This means that new versions of Call of Duty will still be released on various platforms, including the rival PlayStation (Sony). 'As long as there is a working PlayStation console, Call of Duty will still be available on this platform,' Mr. Phil Spencer shared.
The actions of Xbox and Microsoft are garnering enthusiastic support from the gaming community. Whether players are loyal to Xbox or PlayStation consoles, they all desire an environment that is equal, fair, and where everyone has the right to play their favorite games on their preferred platforms.
