Microsoft Brings Minecraft Education Edition to Chromebook

Microsoft has released Minecraft Education Edition on Chromebook, coinciding with the start of the new school year. Minecraft Education Edition debuts on Chrome OS in collaboration with the Google Education team and will provide similar features to the versions for Windows, Mac, and iPad, including cross-platform support.

As part of this release, the game also introduces some new features, including 11 new STEM lessons in the Minecraft world, featuring honey bees and pollination. Additionally, new mobs such as foxes and bees, along with beehives and honey, are added. Teachers and students can easily discover tagged learning activities in the lesson library.

Launching Minecraft: Education Edition on Chromebook

Schools with valid licenses under Microsoft 365 for Education (A3 or A5) can now access the game. Microsoft also promises to enable Google account login for the game in the near future. Currently, users will need a Microsoft account to log in to the game.
