- Try Microsoft Defender ATP for Mac
We are pleased to receive positive feedback from users and the industry regarding Microsoft Defender ATP for Mac, the company's proprietary solution to protect users across operating systems. Since opening the preview limit, the company has always listened to user feedback to continuously improve and enhance the application quality,' according to the software giant.
Microsoft Defender ATP for Mac is now available for all customers, with the company's Microsoft Defender ATP users having enabled the preview feature. Users can access the solution through the launch section in the Microsoft Defender Security Center.
Compared to the limited preview version, the public (open) version of the security tool has improved threat handling capabilities, enhanced user experience, and addressed various other bug fixes.
In addition, the release version has also been supplemented with advanced access features, performance improvements, and tracking of customer 'product' status, expanding support for 37 different languages and providing better anti-impersonation protection. Moreover, Admins can now configure their cloud options for any location, not just limited to the United States.
The public preview of Microsoft Defender ATP for Mac is compatible with devices running macOS 10.14 (Mojave), 10.13 (High Sierra), or 10.12 (Sierra) and requires 1GB of free space.
Customers using Microsoft Defender ATP antivirus software can run scans (full, quick, and custom scans), review detected threats, and take actions against threats (quarantine, delete, or allow). Additionally, they can optionally enable or disable real-time protection, add exclusions for files and paths, manage notifications, and manually check for security updates.
