False positive error

However, Microsoft has stated that the company investigated the issue and found it to be a false positive alert, not caused by any criminal activity, but rather a 'conflict' of alerts.
Admins may receive false positive alerts related to Google Update on devices monitored by Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft explains. Additionally, the company has resolved this issue after about 1.5 hours, and customers can now use Microsoft Defender for Endpoint again.
Previously, in March, a similar incident occurred where some Microsoft Office updates were flagged by Defender for Endpoint as ransomware. However, the company promptly investigated the issue and confirmed it to be a false positive alert.
Or the incident in December 2021, where Defender prevented users from opening some Office files and running various applications, causing false positives related to the Emotet malware.
Several other serious security issues have significantly impacted Chrome browsers recently, including an increase in zero-day vulnerabilities. Most recently, the company has released Chrome version 99.0.4844.84 for Windows, Mac, and Linux to address a critical zero-day vulnerability, allowing attackers to execute remote code.
