The tech giant officially stopped supporting Windows Phones 8.1 since July 2017. According to Joe Belfiore's response to the media in October 2017, Windows 10 Mobile is no longer a focus of the company. Recently, the company also announced the discontinuation of support for Skype for Business , Teams , and Yammer on Windows Phone.
Below is the complete list of three applications that the tech giant is ceasing support and development for on Windows Phone, including:
1. Skype for Business
2. Microsoft Teams
3. Yammer
The Skype for Business app was released for Windows Phone users in August 2015, later developed for Android and iOS devices. Teams was developed to replace Skype for Business and was released in September 2017. The Yammer app was available for Windows Phone users in 2013.
All three applications listed above will be wiped out and unavailable for download on the Store after 20/5/2018. Microsoft emphasizes that the company will cease supporting or updating the mentioned applications.
After 20/5, users utilizing Skype for Business and Yammer on Windows Phone can continue using the apps, but Microsoft won't provide any further updates or support. The Teams app will cease functioning entirely, and users will receive an error message when attempting to connect.
The tech giant also advises users of Skype for Business to transition to using the app on Android and iOS or service apps on computers. Users of Teams and Yammer are recommended to use the services on their mobile browsers.

The company does not provide specific reasons explaining the discontinuation of support for the applications. According to the announcement: 'Microsoft continues to support Windows 10 Mobile, but we are not focusing on building new features for the system.' Moving forward, the company will concentrate on developing features for apps on Android, iOS, and computers.
