Microsoft's latest app - Microsoft Translator for Windows 10 Mobile will cease operations on Windows Phone by the end of this year.
Download links have been removed this month
In their announcement, Microsoft stated that the text translation feature will continue to function while the voice translation feature will officially be discontinued in October. Download links will be removed this month.
This means if you have installed Translator on your phone, the app will continue to operate normally until the end of this year. However, if you have uninstalled the app, you won't have the chance to experience it any longer.
According to Microsoft: 'The Microsoft Translator app for Windows Phone 10 is no longer available on the Microsoft Store starting April 2019. If you're using the app on Windows Phone 10, the text translation feature will still work, but the voice translation feature will cease to function starting October 15, 2019. Translator will continue to support and improve the app for computers running Windows 10'.
As usual, Microsoft also advises users to switch to the app for Android and iOS platforms, noting that the Translator app for these platforms has been enhanced with a range of new features and improvements.
Last year, Microsoft also withdrew the Microsoft Translator app for Windows Phone.
