Version Microsoft Edge 42.9.0 now includes Picture-in-Picture mode, allowing users to open and view YouTube videos in a minimized window that can be moved to the bottom-right corner across different Edge tabs.
To activate this feature, simply navigate to the advanced settings page and enable the Enable Floating Video option located at the bottom corner. Once activated, you can simply scroll down the webpage or swipe the video window from left to right to view the video in Picture-in-Picture mode.
Additionally, the update also adds support for MSN Kids, a news website specifically designed for elementary and middle school children. Users can enable this feature from the settings of the new tab page.
Below is the complete changelog for the update:
Users can now enjoy watching videos in picture-in-picture mode while browsing the web.
- Edge MMX informs users about the credibility of news sources through flags provided by NewsGuard.
- Parents and children can opt for child-friendly news content and websites recommended by MSN Kids in the NTP news source.
The update is currently only available for users testing the Microsoft Edge beta version for iOS. The final release is expected to roll out to all iOS users in the coming weeks or months.
