Now, with the latest version of Microsoft Edge beta on iOS, you can set Edge as your default browser on iPhone. According to some reports, Microsoft Edge will come with a new prompt to set it as the default browser on iOS. The update has been rolled out as part of the latest iOS beta version and will be available to everyone on iOS 14.
After installing the latest version of the web browser, Microsoft Edge displays a full-screen prompt asking users if they want to set the app as the default browser.
Microsoft explains that 'links will automatically open in Microsoft Edge,' directing users to the Settings app, where they can choose Microsoft Edge in the default browser apps section.
Clearly, Microsoft users will be the ones who appreciate this feature the most, but on the other hand, this is definitely a welcome change for everyone, especially as Edge is becoming a more powerful browser than ever on all platforms. On computers, Edge operates on Chromium, the same engine supporting Chrome and a host of other browsers.
