It's been 14 years since the release of Flight Simulator X, and Microsoft announced at last year's E3 event that they would be re-releasing the flight simulation game. The new installment will utilize a new graphics engine and satellite data from Bing Maps. This has undoubtedly excited many fans who have been eagerly awaiting its release, as well as newcomers drawn to the next-generation visuals showcased in the game's introduction. Microsoft Flight Simulator is well worth the wait, and the good news is that the game has now been officially launched.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is priced at 59.99 USD for the Standard Edition on Microsoft Store and Steam. If you want to pilot a variety of aircraft and explore more airports, you'll need to purchase the Deluxe edition for 89.99 USD or the Premium edition for 119.99 USD.
Microsoft Flight Simulator provides a realistic view of the world, with dynamic weather conditions including real clouds, as well as terrain modeled from the real world. Microsoft has stated that there will be over 1.5 billion buildings, along with 2 trillion trees, roads, hills, and much more. Microsoft promises in-game traffic, real-time weather, and even wildlife.
The difference between the 3 editions lies in the number of aircraft and airports. The world in Flight Simulator is designed based on Bing Maps data, complete with trees, airports, streets, and everything else that map software provides. The game includes 37,000 airports, from local to major international airports that Asobo Studios developers have adjusted to incorporate into the game. Microsoft promises regular content updates, and perhaps even more airports to come.
If you want to land in New York, JFK Airport is included in the standard edition of the game, but if you want to stop in San Francisco, you won't be able to land at San Francisco International Airport because that airport is reserved for the Premium edition. Similarly, premium editions will include a more diverse list of aircraft, from 2-seaters to Boeing 747s. Pilots can fly the aircraft directly or switch to autopilot mode.

Microsoft Flight Simulator has now been officially released. To commemorate the return of this beloved game, all players will be able to receive a free Aviators Club kit as a special thank you from the developers for being among the first to take flight from now until September 30, 2020.
