Following the addition of Fluent Design interface for Mail and Calendar apps, the Messaging app is the next in line to receive a makeover from Microsoft, incorporating Fluent Design effects such as Acrylic and Reveal. This marks the first major update for Microsoft Messaging since 2016. The reason behind this update might be related to the rumored Andromeda devices (or Surface Phone) of the tech giant, as these devices will enable users to make calls and send messages, features that are being updated in Messaging.
Microsoft deploys Fluent Design interface for Messaging app
However, it's important to note that Messaging cannot be used for calling and texting on computers. Therefore, the Andromeda device associated with Microsoft Messaging will undoubtedly require an app with more advanced functionality rather than just an appealing interface.
As you may know, the effects added to the app are part of the Fluent Design system, which Microsoft first announced back in May last year. The initial implementation was carried out in the Fall Creators Update, about 3 months ago. It's highly likely that Microsoft will introduce the Fluent Design interface for the Messaging app in the Redstone 4 release.
However, there are no signs indicating that these changes will be implemented for Windows 10 Mobile. These changes will be available to Windows 10 users, and evidence shows that the deployment of the Fluent Design system is becoming increasingly widespread.
For users, data preservation is extremely important. Most users use cloud services like OneDrive to store backup data. But what if you, as a user, lose data stored on your computer and even the cloud storage service for some reason? Microsoft has recently added a file restore feature to OneDrive called File Restore, ensuring that users can recover lost data on their cloud service, a very important feature in an era where there is a lot of important data that needs to be stored and preserved.
