Although the app is still in development, Microsoft has added some useful features such as content filtering and location sharing among family members. Here is the complete list of current features available in the Microsoft Family Safety app:
* Content Filtering: Create a safe space for young children to explore the online world. Establish healthy boundaries with web and search filters to block adult content and set up child-friendly web browsing on Microsoft Edge.

* Time Limits on App and Device Usage: Set time limits on mobile devices. If you know young children will use the device longer for online learning, you can set limits for specific apps or games instead.

* Activity Reporting: Receive detailed information about family's online activities and have a meaningful conversation about it. Both parents and children can view reports on children's device usage time, top accessed websites, and online search keywords.

* Location Sharing: Stay connected even when apart. See loved ones on the map with the location sharing feature and keep track of the places they frequent the most to know where family members are in an instant.

To experience the app, follow these steps to access the preview:
- Set up a family group at http://family.microsoft.com/ (click on Create a family group and follow the instructions to create a new group).
- Fill out the Microsoft Family Safety form with complete information to gain access to the app.
If selected, you'll receive an email from Microsoft with instructions and a link to download the app. Microsoft will send invitations to selected users in the coming weeks.
The app is currently limited to 10,000 users on iOS and 10,000 users on Android, available globally except for China, Japan, right-to-left language countries, as well as countries and territories sanctioned by the United States.
