Let's reminisce about Microsoft's journey of deploying and integrating SMS features into its messaging service Skype. Initially, there was the Messaging Everywhere feature, enabling users to send and receive messages between smartphones and Windows 10 computers. However, this feature was later replaced by a new feature named SMS Relay, which was deployed on the new Skype UWP application. Following the path of Messaging Everywhere, SMS Relay is also being phased out.
The latest addition, SMS Connect, was rolled out to users last year. However, according to sources on Neowin, it seems that the software giant is planning to remove this feature from Skype.

First discovered by Twitter user Florian B, it is noted that the Skype app window displays a notification indicating that the SMS Connect feature will 'cease to function' on August 30th. Users are advised to utilize the Your Phone app to synchronize SMS messages between mobile devices and computers.
SMS synchronization feature is integrated into the Your Phone app immediately after Microsoft deploys the SMS Connect feature for all Skype users.
Microsoft's removal of the SMS Connect feature on Skype may affect some users, especially those using Apple devices, as the Your Phone app is only available on Windows 10 and the Your Phone Companion app is only available for Android devices.
