Microsoft and Meta have initiated collaboration to develop a working and entertainment ecosystem in virtual reality space, aiming to provide an enhanced experience for users on this platform. Accordingly, Microsoft will gradually integrate its major services including Microsoft Teams, Office, Windows, and even Xbox Cloud Gaming - into Meta’s Quest VR virtual reality device system.
Microsoft has decided to collaborate with Meta after recognizing the significant potential of this project in developing their services in the virtual reality space, especially given Meta's established metaverse platform, combined with Meta Quest virtual reality devices.
During the Meta Connect event, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated that through the collaboration between Microsoft and Meta, users 'can connect, share, collaborate, or work in virtual reality spaces just like in real life'. Microsoft Teams is the first service to be integrated into Meta's metaverse platform. As a result, users' avatars in the Meta ecosystem will also be displayed on Teams, and Teams' meeting features will also be supported for direct use from Meta's Horizon Workrooms.
