The new slide translation capability is part of PowerPoint Live in Microsoft Teams for Windows 10 and macOS, a feature that users can use to instantly share PowerPoint presentations with viewers without sharing their screen. Users can present slides directly from PowerPoint or share their synchronized presentations using the 'Share content' menu in meetings.
Microsoft Teams adds real-time slide translation feature in PowerPoint presentations
To utilize the PowerPoint Live feature, users need to update or install the latest Microsoft Teams available on Mytour.
PowerPoint Live in Teams currently allows users to view slides, notes, charts, and conduct presentations in a single view mode. This ensures both presenters and viewers focus on content, without missing any urgent notifications. In the June update, integrating PowerPoint Live into Microsoft Teams will further add direct translation support.
This feature enables anyone (including attendees and presenters) to translate presentation content privately. Attendees can right-click on the presentation to access the 'Translate Slides' option and select their desired target language.
Each meeting attendee will have the option to view the presentation in their chosen language. During the meeting, viewers can also click on hyperlinks and embedded videos in the presentation without leaving the call or interrupting the presenter.
Microsoft is planning to roll out the slide translation feature in mid-June, with deployment expected to be completed by the end of the month. Additionally, the company is testing a new feature to help users manage their live events more easily.
After the update, event organizers can access the settings and features of their live event in a new window. This feature is currently being deployed and will be available to users in the coming weeks.
