For PC users, Microsoft is testing support for 'Tags in Teams', a tagging feature that allows anyone to quickly categorize people in the group based on attributes such as roles, projects, skills, training, or location without using @mention. With the latest update, the tagging feature is now supported for descriptions and can be managed as Tabs.
Last year, Microsoft Teams for Windows 10 and macOS was updated with support for custom meeting backgrounds. The tech giant has now brought a similar function to the mobile platform, starting with iOS users.
If given permission by the company, organization, or school, you can now use custom backgrounds or the pre-existing backgrounds in the Teams mobile application. If custom backgrounds aren't your preference, Teams also comes with another feature that allows you to blur the background so others cannot see what's behind you.
In addition to these two new features, Microsoft Teams is also experimenting with integrating PowerPoint Live into the desktop version. With PowerPoint Live, you can present your PowerPoint slides without having to share your computer screen or the Teams application.
This feature includes support for the presenter view, allowing you to access notes and chat with multiple attendees simultaneously.
