In its announcement, Microsoft stated the company wants to ensure that regardless of the device, platform, or web browser users are using, Skype always delivers a great experience. Therefore, the company is adding support for all browsers including Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Opera, and Safari. However, Firefox browser is not supported at this time.
Finally, two new features soon to appear on Skype are TwinCam, allowing you to connect your phone to function as an additional camera in video calls, and PSTN Translator, enabling you to communicate with speakers of different languages via landline or video call. As mentioned earlier, Microsoft has not provided specific release dates for these features yet, but they will be launched soon.
