Recently, Microsoft has made a series of announcements regarding productivity apps for mobile platforms, including the entirely new Microsoft Lens app, previously known as Office Lens, and numerous new features for other Microsoft apps.
A variety of mobile apps by Microsoft are receiving updates with new features.
1. Outlook and Cortana
Outlook for iOS will integrate AI conversation technology with Cortana, which Microsoft describes as their first step towards providing a 'voice-driven, interactive transition experience to provide helpful ways to organize your daily life.'
Cortana will learn how you speak, including grammar, intonation, and dialect. Microsoft's goal is to make Cortana easier to use and faster than typing on a mobile phone keyboard.

2. Office Lens and Teams
The upcoming update for Office Lens will add the ability to share short videos in Teams chats. With the latest version of Office Lens, you'll be able to record videos, annotate them with text, add filters, and perform some other basic editing operations. Microsoft claims that this new feature will be released in Preview at the end of this quarter.
Additionally, Office Lens is also being enhanced with the ability to read and transcribe handwritten text. This feature will be deployed to Office Lens first, and then it will also be available in the Office mobile app. Finally, Office Lens will have a new name, called Microsoft Lens.

Microsoft Teams and ZOOM Cloud Meetings are evaluated as competitors in the current era of remote work and online learning. Both ZOOM Cloud Meetings and Microsoft Teams have their own strengths.
3. Microsoft Office
The mobile Office app is also receiving several enhancements, starting with the ability to search for files using natural language becoming easier, at least for users with work accounts on Android. It will also help users automatically organize their photos, and business users will soon be able to search for images based on the content of the images, not just the title. These features will come to Office for Android first 'in the next few weeks' and then to Office for iOS.
The office suite is also improving its ability to annotate PDF files with notes, shapes, and timestamps. Finally, the unified Office app will appear on iPad and support multitasking.
4. New Search Feature
Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Office are also receiving Microsoft's new search feature, including support for natural language queries in American English. This addition allows you to tap on the microphone icon to input phrases into the search box. You can also ask Cortana to search through messages, chats, meetings, files, and more.
Microsoft also mentions several other minor features for various apps. You'll soon be able to react to emails with emoji icons, similar to how they work on social media. The calendar section of the app will also soon display weather forecasts. Meanwhile, the To Do app for iOS is also getting updated with the ability to add new home screen widgets at some point this month.
