Insiders in the Dev channel are receiving a substantial update for the Alarms & Clock app on Windows 10. The new version of the app revamps almost everything about the app's interface, moving essential items to the sidebar and making significant changes across all screens within the app.
According to Zac Bowden from Windows Central, this provides the first glimpse into Microsoft's overall plan for Windows 10. A recent report indicates a major user interface overhaul codenamed Sun Valley is slated for the second half of 2021, with the Alarms & Clock app interface update appearing to be part of that. Similar treatments are expected for other Windows 10 apps in the future, along with innovations in various aspects of Windows 10, including the Start Menu, Action Center, Taskbar, and File Explorer.
For the Alarms & Clock app, every section undergoes changes, especially the Timer and Alarm sections. Items in these two pages are presented with more refined and informative imagery to enhance the user experience.
Additionally, there are some new icons and changes for other parts of the app, as well as dialogs for creating new alarms and timers that no longer occupy the entire screen.
If you're running the latest Windows Insider build, you can download the Alarms & Clock 10.2012 update to experience it.
