With nearly one-third of its population being millionaires, Monaco has solidified its position as the city with the highest density of millionaires in the world.
Traveling to Monaco means immersing yourself in the epitome of opulence and affluence.
According to CNN, the number of millionaires in Monaco has increased by 6% compared to two years ago, reaffirming Monaco's dominance as the top-ranking city for millionaires worldwide.
Following Monaco, Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland take the next two spots on the list, with millionaire ratios of 1/4 and 1/5 of the population, respectively.
The findings of a study by Wealth Insight and Spear’s WMS magazine have just been released. This study defines millionaires as individuals with a net worth of $1 million or more, excluding the value of their primary residences.
New York stands out as the only non-European city to crack the top 5 cities worldwide for millionaire density, with 1 in 21 New Yorkers being millionaires.
London, the capital of England, has risen in the rankings this year with 1 in 29 residents being millionaires.
A staggering 7 European cities make it to the top 10 cities with the most millionaires globally. Oslo, the capital of Norway, ranks 6th, followed by Hong Kong at 7th, Frankfurt (Germany) at 8th, Singapore at 9th, and Amsterdam at 10th.
Although Dublin only ranks 10th in Europe and 13th globally, it still surprises many researchers.
Expert Oliver Williams, leading the research at Spear’s, stated: “Dublin boasts a much higher density of millionaires than many other European capitals... Most of these wealthy individuals have seen their fortunes increase due to the rapidly growing tech scene in Dublin, a fact that is attracting talent from Europe and the US alike.”
