While breastfeeding is optimal for a child's development from birth, if breast milk is insufficient, supplementing with additional milk is necessary for optimal absorption of essential nutrients, protection of the delicate digestive system, and supporting comprehensive development.
Morinaga's Japanese infant formula for newborns has been available since 1920. Morinaga Milk was the first company globally to introduce Lactoferrin into powdered milk formulas in 1986. Lactoferrin, abundant in early milk (comprising 25%), enhances the immune system's antibacterial capabilities for infants, supplemented with digestive aid sugars Lactulose and Raffinose for effective digestion.

Morinaga Milk helps infants become sturdier, promoting superior height growth. The milk contains ARA and DHA components that aid in brain and visual development. Morinaga powdered milk is mild, aromatic, and creamy, especially preventing constipation in infants. Japanese milk is often referred to as 'vegetable milk' because of its refreshing and suitable nature for many infants. Mothers should let their babies try small samples and monitor their absorption abilities for the most suitable adjustments. Surveys show that Vietnamese mothers who have used Morinaga Milk for their children are all satisfied.
2. Current types of Morinaga Milk available in the Vietnamese market
Imported from Japan:
Only Japanese language on the box, divided into 2 types: type 0 (for babies from 0 – 9 months) and type 9 (for babies from 9 – 36 months) according to the unique segmentation of the Japanese market.
The expiration date of this domestic Japanese Morinaga milk is 18 months from the production date. The milk box only indicates the production date, without the expiration date. And the date reading of this imported milk follows the Japanese style: read the date month year from right to left, where the month is usually denoted by letters (starting from A as January)

Imported Goods:
Characteristics include both Japanese and Vietnamese language on the package, divided into 2 types: Morinaga milk No. 1 (for children from 0 – 6 months) and Morinaga milk No. 2 (for children from 6 – 36 months)
The expiration date of this imported Morinaga milk is 24 months from the production date. The milk box indicates both the production date and the expiration date. Milk type 1 of the imported goods is equivalent to type 0 of the hand-carried goods, while type 2 is equivalent to type 9 of the hand-carried goods.
3. How to prepare Morinaga Japanese milk
Depending on whether it's type 0 or type 1 milk, the volume of the milk spoon will be divided into 2 types: 20ml or 40ml, and with different water temperatures.
Note that the volume of the milk spoon = amount of milk powder + water
Specifically as follows:
Type 1 (equivalent to hand-carried type 0): the volume of the spoon is 20ml (clearly indicated on the spoon, for mothers' convenience), water for mixing the milk has a temperature of 70 degrees.
Type 2 (equivalent to type 9 hand-carried milk): the volume of the spoon is 40ml, water for mixing the milk has a temperature of 50 degrees.
There are 2 ways to prepare milk (using 120ml as an example for easy visualization)
The first method is following the instructions (this method is the best although a bit meticulous and cumbersome):
Step 1: Add 1/2 of the hot water amount – which is 60ml water (either 70 degrees or 50 degrees depending on the milk type) into the bottle,
Step 2: Add the amount of milk powder (6 spoons of type 1 – equivalent to type 0 or 3 spoons of type 2 – equivalent to type 9) in, shake well.
Step 3: Add the remaining amount of boiled water to cool it down to reach the 120ml mark on the bottle, shake again until completely dissolved.
The second method is the common and simpler way:
Step 1: Add 1/3 of the hot water amount at the correct temperature into the bottle, which means adding 40ml of 50-degree water if preparing type 9 milk, or 70 degrees if preparing type 0 milk.
Step 2: Add another 60ml of boiled water to cool it down: so there's 100ml of warm water in the bottle.
Step 3: Add the amount of milk powder: 6 spoons of type 1 (since 120ml/20ml = 6) or 3 spoons of type 2, shake well. The finished milk in the bottle will automatically rise to the 120ml mark.
Mothers note: the amount of milk to prepare – 20ml = warm water amount (hot water + cooled water) poured in initially.
