Cat Ba is a destination that attracts many tourists with its pristine, majestic beauty of nature, and the friendliness of its people. This summer, let's explore the 3-day-2-night review of Cat Ba from Khanh Vy for unforgettable trips with family and friends!
Cat Ba always captivates many tourists with its both pristine and romantic, poetic, and sentimental beauty. In this article, let's refer to the 3-day-2-night Cat Ba travel review from Khanh Vy and her friends to see what you will experience on your 3-day-2-night Cat Ba trip!
When did we travel to Cat Ba?
In July, we embarked on a meaningful 3-day-2-night journey to Cat Ba together. It was our summer break, a temporary relief from the hustle of exams. Traveling at this time helped us release all the stress and pressure after crazy days of meeting deadlines, while also rejuvenating our spirits for the upcoming school year.

Another reason for choosing Cat Ba during this time is that it's the most beautiful period of the year. The sky is clear, with gentle sunlight and a mild breeze. The sun is not too harsh, allowing us to feel the vibrant summer atmosphere. What's better than spending summer at the beach, right?
Essential items we prepared
Cash
As there might be additional expenses, we prepared some cash for payments. Since many services on the island accept bank transfers and we were concerned about the risk of theft, we only carried a small amount of cash.

If you're traveling with a group like us, you can entrust all the cash to one person for easier expense management! Even though we're not math whizzes in daily life, during trips like this, our group suddenly becomes surprisingly smart, I must say ^^
Clothing
Since our entire group consists of girls, we opted for beautiful dresses to capture those perfect shots. Prioritizing cool and comfortable outfits for convenience during our outings, each of us packed around 2 sleepwear sets and 3-4 dresses for each day over the 3 days and 2 nights.
As we'll be engaging in practical activities on Cat Ba, I advise against choosing overly tight clothes. Instead, opt for garments made of cool cotton fabric for a more comfortable travel experience!
Footwear and other essential items
For utmost convenience during our Cat Ba trip, we chose low, lightweight sandals to prevent foot discomfort during extensive movement. Additionally, some in the group brought along sneakers for activities like exploring Cat Ba National Park or hiking.

On the journey, we carried motion sickness pills and prepared for various weather conditions. Regarding food, we brought along medication for motion sickness, as well as remedies for cough, fever, and diarrhea. Additionally, since beach activities involve extensive outdoor exposure, we couldn't forget sunscreen, wide-brimmed hats to shield us from the intense summer sun.
Means of transportation we chose
Depending on different starting points, there are various means of transportation to get to Cat Ba. For this trip, as we traveled in a group of 5, we opted for a car for convenience and speed. From Hanoi, we booked a car via the Hanoi – Hai Phong expressway, and from Hai Phong, we took a bus to reach Cat Ba.

The cost of traveling by car per person falls around 250,000 VND – 300,000 VND for both the round trip. I remember the bus fare was approximately 10,000 VND per ticket, quite affordable.
Where did we choose to stay in Cat Ba?
For this journey, we chose Lan Homestay for our 3-day, 2-night stay in Cat Ba. Lan Homestay is one of the most beautiful homestays in Cat Ba, designed in a traditional style with small houses built and thatched with leaves, bamboo, and wood. It's an ideal place for dreamy souls who love nature like us. The scenery here is stunning, and it seems every corner of the homestay is meticulously cared for, so just a few rounds around the homestay and we've got some Facebook-worthy photos, hehe!

As a group of 5, we booked a room with 2 beds. In my opinion, the space here is very clean, surrounded by trees, giving you the feeling of being immersed in nature. Additionally, the services here are modern and convenient. We could use all the in-room services without any additional charges. Depending on the room type, the room rates will vary. For our 3-day, 2-night stay, the total cost for a room with 2 beds was 950,000 VND.

Some places we visited
Lan Ha Bay
In this trip, we explored Lan Ha Bay and experienced kayaking to leisurely drift on the sea while admiring the magnificent scenery that nature bestowed upon this place. The most impressive thing here is the majestic natural landscape, with rocky mountains lying horizontally on the sea, surrounded by lush green trees, creating a space that is both wild and poetic.

As we joined the Lan Ha Bay – Monkey Island tour, the entrance ticket was 80,000 VND for adults. Since we were a group of 5, the total cost was 350,000 VND. If I remember correctly, we rented 3 double kayaks, each priced at 50,000 VND, with unlimited travel time.
Monkey Island
The next destination we decided to visit is Monkey Island. As mentioned before, we went to Monkey Island as part of the tour along with Lan Ha Bay. I heard that this island used to be called Pineapple Island because there were many pineapple plantations. Later, it was renamed Monkey Island due to the presence of numerous mischievous and adorable monkeys.

At Monkey Island, we had a blast playing with the incredibly cute monkeys, feeding them, and taking photos together. This is a must-visit spot in Cat Ba, or you'll surely regret it! However, don't bring too much food here unless you want the monkeys to snatch it away!
Cat Dua Beach
Going to the beach and not taking a swim is indeed a major omission, right? Therefore, to change the atmosphere, we headed to Cat Dua Beach to immerse ourselves in the cool water. Cat Dua Beach is divided into Cat Dua 1 and Cat Dua 2. We chose Cat Dua 2, and in my opinion, it's a quite tranquil beach with simple services, suitable for those who prefer a peaceful environment rather than a lively and noisy one like us.

Cat Dua Beach
Taking a dip in the crystal-clear and azure waters here is truly a fantastic choice when in Cat Ba. The scenery is picturesque, the people are friendly and welcoming. This is a place that I must highly recommend to you in this 3-day, 2-night Cat Ba review.
Cat Ba Night Market
In the evening, after a satisfying meal, I suddenly thought of my friends back home. I decided to invite a friend to the Night Market to pick up some souvenirs for them. My impression of this place is quite bustling, with stalls creatively illuminated with sparkling lights. Besides souvenirs, there's a variety of items for sale, including seafood. So, if you're not into souvenirs like me, you can still buy seafood as a gift for your loved ones!

One thing to note is that when you come here, you shouldn't carry too much cash to prevent theft. Additionally, because the vendors here also accept transfers, feel free to shop with peace of mind! After exploring the Night Market, we took a bike ride around Cat Ba town to feel the cool breeze from the sea. Riding around the streets of the town and admiring Cat Ba at night is also an interesting experience for you to try!
Cai Beo Fishing Village
The next stop in our journey is Cai Beo Fishing Village. Cai Beo is an ancient fishing village nestled in the limestone valley of Cat Ba town, Cat Hai province. The village, also known as Vung O, is home to about 600 residents who primarily make a living through fishing and aquaculture. We chose to take a boat tour to experience the life of the people here. Upon arrival, I was surprised to see many houses clustered together on the sea, creating a familiar yet uniquely charming scene.

Visiting the fishing village, we not only explored the beauty of an ancient fishing village with a history of up to 7000 years but also witnessed various seafood and experienced the simple, rustic life of the locals. Additionally, we indulged in dishes made from freshly caught and cultivated seafood by the villagers. This was truly an unforgettable and fantastic experience for me.
Thien Cong Fortress
On our last day in Cat Ba, we gathered to enjoy coffee and admire the sunset at Thien Cong Fortress. Before coming here, I thought it was a place with significant historical value, featuring military bunkers, trenches, and two large coastal artillery guns dating back to 1940. Little did I know, it's also a very romantic tourist spot in the evening.

Sunset at Thien Cong Fortress
Sipping coffee and gazing at the enchanting scene with sparkling waves in the golden sunlight is truly an unforgettable image for me.
Cat Ba National Park
The last stop on our journey was Cat Ba National Park. Cat Ba National Park boasts a diverse ecosystem with over 282 plant species and 800 animal species inhabiting both the forests and the sea. Moreover, it is a convergence point for various ecosystems such as lush forests on limestone mountains, coastal ecosystems with coral reefs, and cave systems.

Upon arrival, we immersed ourselves in a vast natural forest, embracing the sounds of nature and all living things. Here, we truly enjoyed a refreshing and serene environment before returning to the bustling and noisy urban space.
