Hùng Kings' Commemoration Day - the 10th of March in the lunar calendar is a significant day, drawing the attention of Vietnamese people worldwide. On this day, people usually prepare offerings to remember the contributions of the Hùng Kings in building and defending the nation.

This is the ritual according to the guidance of the Ministry of Culture in the commemorative ceremony for the Hùng Kings in the Official Letter No. 796/HD-BVHTTDL dated March 18, 2009.
In this, the round-shaped sticky rice cake symbolizes the Heavens, usually without filling. Meanwhile, the square-shaped Chung cake symbolizes the Earth, with salty filling inside.
The ceremonial offerings during local Hùng Kings' festivals are nearly identical, including: Glutinous rice, betel leaves, fruits, wine, incense, rice, salt, square and round cakes, boiled chicken (must be a capon), and black pig meat (mandatory to be a black pig).
In every household, when commemorating the Hùng Kings, essential offerings include:
- Square sticky rice cake (Bánh chưng), round glutinous rice cake (Bánh giầy).
- Incense, water, betel leaves, areca nuts, wine, and a tray of five fruits.
- Feast table (could be vegetarian or savory depending on each family's preference).
After completing the offering preparations, proceed to recite the Giỗ tổ Hùng Vương ritual. However, be cautious not to confuse the ceremony at the temple with the one at home.
