Motorola X Play has a new software version 6.0.1 (24.61.52.en.03) available for users to update at this time.
With this new software version, there aren't any major changes, mainly updates to fonts and the Android security system.
To update to the new software version 6.0.1 (24.61.52.en.03), follow these steps:
First, the device will display a notification on the screen; if not, go to Settings > About Phone > System Update > Then wait for the device to check for updates.
It's recommended to choose Wi-Fi only. I use 3G because it's about to expire. Using 3G, it takes about 5 minutes to download this update.
Downloading is quick, but installing into the system takes longer. I left the device from the time it restarted until about 25 minutes later before I could start using it.
