In Firefox 26, following the speed boost and improved security features introduced in version 25, the integration of an FTP server further accelerates the download speed of data from the Internet to the computer.
Key Changes in Firefox 26
1. All Plug-ins default to off except for Flash Plug-in
In this version, supported Plug-ins will not automatically activate when browsing the Web. They will only run when users specifically require them. However, this doesn't mean users need to manually download each Plug-in when accessing Plug-in-dependent websites. The necessary Plug-ins can be instantly utilized by allowing websites to automatically load them.
Users will easily find related information about each Plug-in when they are placed near the URL address of that Website.
2. Automatic filling of saved passwords
As of now, the default password management function in Firefox does not support pre-saved password schemes. In fact, previous versions did not have the capability to automatically remember saved passwords and the auto-fill password mode seen in other browsers due to the flexible nature of login forms.
To address this issue, in Firefox 26, you no longer need to manually enter passwords for online accounts as the auto-fill password mode will automatically activate whenever you access a specific website.
4. Other Changes
- Enhanced MP3 decoding for Windows versions
- Support for multiple absolute privacy policies regarding personal information, preventing unwanted attacks.
- Image loading speed has also been significantly boosted.
