Windows 11 brings along numerous new features and significant improvements. One of the most notable is how the software giant is changing its policy restrictions for developers looking to publish their apps on the new Microsoft Store.
Firefox will be available in the Microsoft Store on Windows 11
Microsoft no longer blocks third-party stores listed in the Microsoft Store, allowing apps like Epic Games Store to be downloaded. Moreover, the company has revised its policy regarding web browsers, permitting them to be released in the Microsoft Store using their own engines. This means that browsers are now available in the Microsoft Store for download without any changes to the underlying technology.

Mozilla enthusiastically welcomes this change, confirming that Firefox will also be available in the Microsoft Store later this year.
Mozilla stated: 'Microsoft has relaxed its restrictions on its Windows Store, which previously prohibited third-party browsers from appearing in the store. We are delighted to learn that their store is now more open to companies and applications, including independent browsers like Firefox. We believe that a healthy internet environment is one where people have the opportunity to choose from a variety of browsers and web browsing tools. Firefox will be available on the Windows Store later this year.'
Certainly, all major browsers have the potential to appear in the Microsoft Store. Although Google hasn't disclosed any plans regarding this matter, it's highly likely that Google Chrome will eventually make its way to Windows 11 users. Other browsers like Vivaldi may also find their place in the Microsoft Store.
