Food options in Bali are affordable and diverse, ranging from ordinary coffee shops to fantastic tex-mex joints. Bali is famous for its quality coffee, delicious pastries, and incredibly fresh seafood. I assure you that whether you have little or plenty of money, you can always opt for a luxurious meal and sip cocktails daily. Below, I'll note down some dishes you should try when in Bali. During my 3-day, 2-night trip, I tried all of these dishes, and I must say, they were absolutely fantastic.

A joyful meal with my group
Babi Guling (Roasted Suckling Pig)
Also known as Balinese Suckling Pig, Babi Gending leaves everyone marveling at its exquisite flavor, thanks to the meticulously marinated meat. It's one of the most famous local dishes on the island. The pork is marinated with various herbs and spices unique to Bali before being roasted whole. The meat is always tender, served with rice and steamed vegetables, pork sausages, fried pork, and the most interesting part - crispy skin!
There are many places selling Babi Gending, but the most famous one is Ibu Oka. The special meal includes all the dishes I mentioned above, and it's quite filling, yet the price is incredibly cheap at 55,000 IDR ($5.50 SGD).
Below are some excellent and well-known spots for Babi Gending that I've noted down for you to visit:
- Address of Warung Babi Gending: Jalan Suweta Gianyar, Ubud, (Open from 11am - 7pm) | Phone: +62 361 976 345
- Address of Warung Babi Gending Pak Malen: Jalan Sunset Road No. 5 Seminyak, Kuta (Open from 10am - 9pm) | Phone: +62 361 7452968

Balinese Coffee
Bali coffee, also known as Kopi in Bali, differs from other regions of Indonesia. Bali coffee is exceptionally unique, sourced from Lombok - a highly renowned type of bean. Most coffee is grown in the northeast region of the island due to its fertile volcanic soil and ideal climate. Numerous coffee shops in Bali serve premium coffee varieties, ranging from $2 - $5 SGD (19,700 - 50,000 IDR) per cup.
A famous coffee shop in the area is Anomali Coffee. Their iced coffee blends are absolutely delicious. I've also noted down the details of the shop, so make sure to jot them down for a visit, at number 88 Jalan Raya Ubud. Opening hours are from Sunday to Saturday, 7am to 10pm. Phone: +62 361 972263.
Ice Creams, Gelatos, Sherbets
Ice creams, gelatos, and sherbets are quite famous in Bali. At Bali ice cream parlors, you'll not only enjoy classic flavors like chocolate or vanilla but also a wide variety of unique and diverse flavors. You can indulge in flavors like red dragon fruit, lemongrass, lychee, and passion fruit, along with various types of coffee and liquor. Different coffee, liquor, chocolate, and candy flavors are also readily available at the shops. Don't hesitate, as you can easily sample up to 4 flavors in one serving for under $10 Singapore dollars (100,000 IDR).
One of my favorite ice cream places is Gusto Gelato: located at Jalan Mertanadi No. 46B, Kerobokan, North Kuta 80361 (open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 9pm) | Phone: +62 361 5522190.
Nuri Nuri BBQ
If you've made it to Bali, resisting BBQ ribs is nearly impossible. And who can say no to Balinese pork ribs, especially when they're incredibly delicious, grilled over charcoal, and served tableside by BBQ staff? Bali boasts several renowned spots serving some of the best ribs, steaks, and grilled dishes. I quite fancy these places, especially Nuri Nuri BBQ, where the grilled pork ribs are absolutely delicious. The full rack costs only 110,000 IDR (11 USD). Not only are they tasty, but they're also beautifully presented and meticulously garnished.
I've noted down some places for you to check out!
