Details and Snapshots of Xiaomi 13 Pro Camera Revealed (update: 01/12)
According to quotes from GSMArena, Xiaomi's latest flagship, the Xiaomi 13 series, will be officially unveiled tomorrow (1/12), and today the company has revealed some key features as well as a few snapshots of the camera on the Xiaomi 13 Pro model.

The teaser reveals that the main camera of the device will feature a 50 MP Sony IMX989 sensor with a 1-inch size, while the telephoto camera is 75 mm, providing 3x optical zoom.
Xiaomi has disclosed the working mechanism of the innovative 'floating' telephoto lens in a 20-second video. The camera will move elements closer to achieve infinite focal length for capturing distant objects, and when close-up shots (up to 10 cm) are needed, the elements will shift further away. This camera module is developed with insights from Leica, a brand prominently featured on the rear of Xiaomi 13 Pro.
Xiaomi 13 Pro makes an appearance in a leaked hands-on video, revealing the camera design and some technical details such as MIUI 14 (based on Android 13), 8 GB RAM, 128 GB internal storage, and a Qualcomm processor with a 3.19 GHz CPU (likely Snapdragon 8 Gen 2). Xiaomi invests $15 million in developing Xiaomi 13 Pro's camera? (Update: 03/11)
With just about a month left until the expected launch of Xiaomi 13, leaks about the next flagship from Xiaomi are becoming more prominent. According to a quote from Android Authority, leaker Yogesh Brar posted technical specifications leaked on Twitter for Xiaomi 13 Pro with significant camera upgrades.

According to the leaked information, Xiaomi's upcoming flagship is once again set to benefit from the collaboration with the renowned camera company Leica. Xiaomi 13 Pro is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, all with a 50 MP resolution. However, this time Xiaomi might upgrade the main sensor to the Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor previously equipped in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra (an exclusive model in China).

Xiaomi has also collaborated with Sony to co-develop a sensor with a whopping $15 million investment (approximately 373 billion VND), aiming to enhance low-light performance, faster autofocus, and improve dynamic range. Xiaomi claimed that this sensor can capture over 76% more light than the sensor in the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Other specifications of Xiaomi 13 Pro may not change much compared to Xiaomi 12 Pro. According to leaker Brar, the device will feature a 6.7-inch LTPO display, a 32 MP front camera, 120 W fast charging, and a 4,800 mAh battery. However, Xiaomi 13 Pro might come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip (expected to be unveiled by Qualcomm in the upcoming November event). Xiaomi 13 Pro's RAM and storage options will be 8/12 GB and 128/256/512 GB, respectively. Similar to the Xiaomi 13 Lite, this chip from Xiaomi promises peak performance on the phone.

Leaked: Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro release date (update: 12/07)
Xiaomi has unveiled its flagship 12S series, featuring three models: Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Ultra. What about the Xiaomi 13 flagship series? When will the Xiaomi 13 Series be launched? This is undoubtedly a question on many people's minds, especially after the recent release of Xiaomi 12S Series. Without keeping everyone waiting, on July 9th, Gizmochina reported information from leaker Ice Universe stating that Xiaomi's next flagship series is expected to be unveiled later this year.

Additionally, Ice Universe predicts that next year's flagships from major brands will have displays with frame-sized dimensions, meaning thin screen bezels on all four sides. Specifically, Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Series as a whole will feature a curved display on all edges. Moreover, the device's screen will have a 120 Hz refresh rate and a high 2K resolution.

Information from another reputable leaker, Digital Chat Station (as quoted by Gizmochina), suggests that Xiaomi's upcoming flagship is likely to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and is currently being fast-tracked in production. This implies that the Xiaomi 13 Series could be launched in November this year and hit the market in December. Additionally, Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will feature a camera system fine-tuned by Leica, immersive audio, and water resistance.

The information about the Xiaomi 13 Series sounds intriguing, doesn't it? However, I have a different perspective on this matter. Specifically, I think the Xiaomi 13 Series is likely not to be introduced this year but will be unveiled next year. The reason is that the Xiaomi 12S Series marked the return of Xiaomi's flagship S-series. The Xiaomi 12S Series is equipped with impressive specifications, featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and a camera fine-tuned by Leica, so I speculate that Xiaomi will not unveil the Xiaomi 13 Series this year.
Detailed article: Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro expected to be launched in November, hitting shelves in December.
Xiaomi 13 series is expected to be unveiled at the end of 2022 (update: 21/06)
Currently, the Xiaomi 13 series is in development and is expected to be equipped with the upcoming flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. In December last year, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 12 series. However, a recent leak from Gizmochina suggests that the Chinese manufacturer will announce the Xiaomi 13 series earlier than its predecessor.

Currently, it seems that Xiaomi has plans to release at least two models, namely Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, by the end of this year. According to insiders, the Xiaomi 13 series is being tested with the Android 13 operating system, about a month earlier than the Xiaomi 12 series last year. This indicates that the Xiaomi 13 series may be launched in November 2022.

Due to the Xiaomi 13 series expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Qualcomm is likely to announce the new processor in November. Sources have revealed that Xiaomi 13 has the code name 'Nuwa' and model number 2211133C. On the other hand, Xiaomi 13 Pro is rumored to have the code name 'Fuxi' and model number 2210132C. Xiaomi 13 could be a compact flagship similar to its predecessor. Both phones in the new series are expected to feature curved OLED screens with hole-punch designs and thin bezels, as well as a Leica-tuned triple-camera system.
Xiaomi 13 Pro's design will stand out with a ceramic back, using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip (update: 08/06)
Although Xiaomi is still gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12s series in July 2022, insiders suggest that Xiaomi has also started developing the Xiaomi 13 series, with leaked information about the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

According to a report from leaker Digital Chat Station cited by Sparrows News, Xiaomi M2 (codename for Xiaomi 13 Pro) is being developed with an impressive configuration, expected to use the SM8550 chip - possibly Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, set to be released by Qualcomm early this year.

Not only that, leaker Digital Chat Station also revealed that Xiaomi M2 will return with a more aesthetically crafted ceramic back design compared to its predecessor. Xiaomi has previously applied ceramic back designs to some of its flagship models, with the latest being Xiaomi 11 Ultra, known for its meticulous craftsmanship and aesthetics.
Detailed article: Xiaomi 13 Pro will feature an exquisite ceramic back, equipped with a powerful new Snapdragon chip.
Release date for Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro might be earlier than expected? (Updated: 28/05)
While Xiaomi 12 Ultra has yet to be released, it seems Xiaomi has already started developing the Xiaomi 13 series. This is why Xiaomiui speculates that this phone will be launched earlier than anticipated, possibly around November.

As per information from GSMArena, this is an intriguing speculative story. Recently, Xiaomiui uncovered a total of four IMEIs (International Mobile Equipment Identity) from the Chinese database. Based on the gathered data, it is believed that these four models will consist of two variants for the Chinese market and two variants as the global versions of Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro.

The mentioned model numbers for the Chinese market are 221113C and 2210132C. Conversely, 2211133G and 2210132G are predicted to be global model versions, indicated by the 'G' at the end. Additionally, Xiaomi's flagship product releases often fall in December as the company strives to adopt the latest and best from Qualcomm. This implies that Qualcomm might easily seek an earlier release for the Snapdragon Gen 2 chip.

Xiaomi 13 Pro boasts a powerhouse configuration with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip
According to information from PhoneAqua, Xiaomi 13 Pro could be equipped with the Snapdragon 898 chip, but I think this might not be accurate because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is currently Qualcomm's top-of-the-line processor. Therefore, in my opinion, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the next flagship chip from Qualcomm, and it's highly likely that Xiaomi 13 Pro will be powered by this new processor.

Currently, although the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 delivers powerful performance, it faces several issues causing discomfort for users, such as overheating leading to reduced performance and increased power consumption. To address this, many manufacturers have had to lower the chip's clock speed or implement a cooling system, similar to what Xiaomi equipped on the Xiaomi 12 series. Despite that, I find those solutions not ideal, so I hope Qualcomm will optimize temperature management better on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Additionally, Xiaomi 13 Pro features a substantial 12 GB RAM for excellent multitasking capabilities, allowing users to smoothly perform multiple tasks and play high-demanding games without experiencing lag. Furthermore, Xiaomi 13 Pro is paired with a spacious 512 GB internal storage, providing users ample space to store data, images, and videos without concerns about running out of capacity.

According to PhoneAqua, Xiaomi 13 Pro will be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, which, in my opinion, is a reasonable capacity for a flagship smartphone. Many users prefer devices with large battery capacities for extended usage and gaming sessions. However, with premium smartphones, users also have additional demands, posing a need for a balance between sleek design and excellent battery life. Therefore, the 5,000 mAh capacity remains optimal, providing enough power for a full day's use while maintaining a slim and lightweight device.

With a 5,000 mAh battery and Xiaomi's efficient hardware and software optimization on the Xiaomi 13 Pro, similar to their approach across all their phone lineup, it promises to deliver an impressive usage duration, sufficient to meet your needs throughout the day. For those with higher usage frequency, the essential 55 W fast charging technology helps significantly reduce your charging waiting time on multiple occasions!
Based on the latest leaked information, the specific specifications of Xiaomi 13 Pro are as follows:
- Display: 6.9-inch size, Super AMOLED panel, Full HD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,340 pixels).
- CPU: Snapdragon 895 (likely Snapdragon 8 Gen 2).
- RAM: 12 GB.
- Internal storage: 512 GB.
- Rear Cameras: 108 MP + 48 MP + 12 MP + 5 MP.
- Front Camera: 32 MP.
- Battery: 5,000 mAh, 55 W fast charging.
Xiaomi 13 Pro boasts a large 6.9-inch display and a 108 MP camera
According to information from PhoneAqua, the Xiaomi 13 Pro will feature a large 6.9-inch display, providing a spacious viewing area for entertainment and work. The device will utilize a Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution (1,080 x 2,340 pixels), a pixel density of 386 PPI, a 16 million color display, and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. While the screen resolution might not be groundbreaking, it should be sufficient for users' daily entertainment tasks.

The source also reveals that the selfie camera of the Xiaomi 13 Pro will have a resolution of 32 MP (wide-angle), allowing users to engage in online learning and video chats with friends and family. Additionally, Xiaomi will enhance the image processing capabilities of the front camera, despite the already good image quality of the Xiaomi 12 Pro. What interests me more is whether the company decides to incorporate the hidden selfie camera technology into the new smartphone. Since Xiaomi introduced this technology in the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4, I hope the hidden selfie camera becomes more widespread in the future, starting with the Xiaomi 13 series.

Regarding the rear camera specifications of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, PhoneAqua has disclosed the details as follows:
- Wide-angle Camera: 108 MP resolution.
- Telephoto Camera: 48 MP resolution.
- Ultra-wide-angle Camera: 12 MP resolution.
- Macro Camera: 5 MP resolution.
When will Xiaomi 13 Pro be launched? How much is Xiaomi 13 Pro priced?
According to PhoneAqua, Xiaomi 13 Pro and the Xiaomi 13 series might be introduced to international users around May 2023. Regarding the price of Xiaomi 13 Pro, it remains a mystery. Based on the Xiaomi 12 Pro's price of 16.8 million VND (lowest configuration), along with leaked specifications, predictions suggest Xiaomi 13 Pro's starting price won't differ much from the previous version, around 18 million VND.
