Hello everyone.I've lived on this earth for over 30 years and never have I encountered such a bizarre situation. This is a comical tale of mine as I attempt to fix my glitchy mic on the iPad Pro 11 2020.My device is authentic, purchased directly from Apple and under warranty. I bought it back in November last year and then got myself an ESR Urban Premium Folio case (you can find my light review here). Everything was smooth sailing with the device, nothing to complain about.Until one day, I started playing VLTK1 Mobile, and the strange thing began: sending voice chats would sometimes work and sometimes not. I thought it was just the game, maybe due to the connection or something, so I didn't pay much attention since I rarely use voice. Then I played Tốc Chiến, and my friends complained about my mic being faulty, that's when I realized it was serious. I tried using a recording app to test, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't @@
I've tried many solutions like resetting the device, upgrading to iPadOS 15 beta... but it still persists.Knowing it was time to take action, I took my device to the store where I bought it, but due to the pandemic, they couldn't accept it and suggested I take it directly to the nearest Apple service center for a quicker resolution. I brought the device to Vietcomindo on Phan Đăng Lưu, and after initial inspection confirming the issue, they accepted the device and sent it to Apple in hopes of exchanging it for a new one. I returned home eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new device to use :v 😁
However, if you use techniques like setting up, it doesn't occur:
Furthermore, if you're recording normally and then close the folio case, the app also stops recording automatically. So ultimately, is this a software glitch, a hardware malfunction of the iPad, or an issue with this folio case (or similar cases)? Because this case has a magnet to turn off the screen when closed, could it be related? Does that magnet, when pressed against the back, cause some sort of interference? But when folded behind the iPad, the screen doesn't turn off and functions normally, only the mic malfunctions. Or could this be some sort of feature? I'm stumped. For those using this folio case or similar ones, could you check if you're experiencing similar issues? Because I've searched online and found no one experiencing the same thing as me, or perhaps because not many people use the recording function, so no one notices.
This is my first attempt at writing such a lengthy piece, and I may have rambled a bit, but with plenty of free time, consider it a heart-to-heart with you all. Thank you for reading!!
