3. Can Tho

What's particularly special is that during the traditional Tet holiday, the Western regions tend to be much livelier than Saigon. Here, you'll feel the festive atmosphere, families gathering, and neighbors bustling together throughout the day. Whether strolling the streets or visiting markets, everywhere is bustling with activity.
Speaking of markets, you must make time to visit Cai Rang Floating Market. This is a long-standing cultural feature of the Can Tho people specifically and the Western riverside areas in general. During Tet days, the floating market is particularly crowded and vibrant. Or you can explore Ninh Kieu Wharf, pagodas, and take boat rides around the cool coconut water. And be sure to try all the varieties of fruits from local orchards here. Durian, mangosteen, rambutan, longan,... are all famous.
4. Outdoor Recreation Areas: Madagui, Mango Garden
Located in Lam Dong Province, Madagui is also a very famous adventure tourism destination with activities such as boat paddling across rivers, paintballing, waterfall climbing, jungle trekking, and stream trekking,... If you're planning a trip with friends rather than family, then this is a perfect spot with plenty of games to entertain and enjoy.
Just 30km away from Ho Chi Minh City, Mango Garden Eco-tourism Area (Dong Nai) offers a completely different atmosphere. 5. Beaches around Saigon
Located within 100 - 120km from the center of Saigon, you can find about 7 incredibly beautiful and interesting beaches, such as: Can Gio, Tan Thanh, Thoi Thuan, Loc An, Phuoc Hai, Long Son, Ho Tram,... What's special is that these beaches during Tet days are usually not too crowded, unlike Vung Tau, Phan Thiet,... So you can still fully experience the various services here.
Especially in Can Gio and Long Son, the seafood is extremely delicious. In Can Gio, the best are shrimp, clams, squid, and mussels,... while if you visit Long Son, you must try fresh oysters, grilled oysters with scallion oil or grilled oysters with cheese at cheaper prices than other tourist areas.
