Carrying nylon bags into the garden or aiding in waste sorting is among the measures advocated by Nam Cat Tien Garden.
Nam Cat Tien National Park urges against using nylon bags
Since 2012, the Management Board of Nam Cat Tien National Park has initiated efforts to limit the use of nylon bags within the park and encourages visitors to use paper bags to protect the ecosystem. This activity has garnered attention and received support from many visitors.

Mr. Bui Quoc Vi, a guide at the national park, stated that initially, park staff made paper bags and distributed them free of charge to visitors. 'After a while, we switched to reusable bags that are eco-friendly and of better quality,' said Mr. Vi.
Mr. Vi further added that previously, dissemination and implementation were widespread among park officials and employees, without coercion towards visitors. After displaying banners and reminding visitors at the ticket counter, many visitors have shown support and diligently complied.
To date, Nam Cat Tien National Park is home to approximately 1,500 species of animals, almost all living in natural habitats.
'Currently, the Park does not have measures to penalize littering or lack of cooperation by visitors. However, if visitors are volunteers or frequent the park, boat drivers will remind them. If you bring multiple nylon bags, you will not be allowed to cross the river,' said Mr. Vi.

According to scientists, when released into the environment, nylon bags take hundreds to thousands of years to completely decompose. The presence of nylon bags in the environment will seriously affect soil and water because they prevent oxygen from passing through the soil, causing erosion and making the soil barren, thereby slowing plant growth.
Cat Tien National Park is a place that preserves the original biodiversity and is the headwater forest for the Tri An hydroelectric plant. Therefore, preserving and protecting the entire ecosystem in the park is very important not only for the environment but also for the livelihoods of local residents.
