The event named 'Green Action' took place on Hanoi's pedestrian street to celebrate Earth Day (April 22). Early in the morning, I joined my friends to the venue to receive uniforms and necessary equipment. With a large scale and widespread enthusiasm, this activity attracted many people to participate. Everyone was joyful and excited to contribute to the green planet restoration effort.

Here, people formed small groups of five to seven individuals each. Each group was provided with long sticks for picking up trash and plenty of large bags to collect the gathered waste. My group was assigned to the area around Hoan Kiem Lake, conveniently allowing us to both work and enjoy the scenery. As it is a pedestrian street, there are numerous sidewalk eateries, leading to a considerable amount of litter, diminishing the urban aesthetics. Bottle caps, single-use plastic bags lie scattered under the trees and bushes. Leftover food occasionally falls in the middle of the road. There are even a few large bins filled with various unused items from the surrounding establishments. Sunflower seed husks seem to be the most common, despite previous cleaning efforts, many remain on the sidewalk.

With the crowd's enthusiasm, the garbage bags quickly filled up. The street scene brightened up, returning to its poetic and clean appearance. All the waste was carefully sorted. Following the program's instructions, this classification process made disposal faster and much more manageable. While working, we also engaged in conversations with others, learning more about the global environmental situation. It was truly valuable information, expanding my understanding of the ongoing pollution and what I can do to protect the Earth.

After completing all tasks, everyone gathered to clean up and concluded the program. On the way home, each of us received a small souvenir as a memento. I am delighted to have such a meaningful experience.
