II. Sample Essay: A Journey to the City
1. City Journey, Sample 1 (Standard):
Last Sunday, my classmates and I embarked on a fascinating trip to Hanoi to visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
We will gather in front of the school gate at 6 am on Sunday, and at precisely 6:15, the journey will commence. Prior to the trip, excitement and anticipation filled me. I prepared my clothing and essentials in my backpack early on. I went to bed early, silently hoping for a quick morning to join my friends on the trip to Hanoi and visit Uncle Ho's Mausoleum.
This recreational trip is our reward for achieving excellence in the first semester, organized by the parents' association and our homeroom teacher. We all eagerly anticipated this, so when we boarded the bus, we joyfully sang together, chanting 'As if Uncle Ho is present in our victorious day.'
Narrate a Journey to Hanoi City
After a 2-hour bus ride, we arrived in Hanoi. Unlike the serene and peaceful ambiance of my hometown, Hanoi bustled with activity, streets crowded with people coming and going. The city streets were wide, adorned with skyscrapers, apartment buildings, and numerous vibrant shops offering a variety of goods.
Amidst the vibrant and bustling scenery of Hanoi, we found immense excitement. Each of us peered out the window, sharing the interesting sights we discovered.
Uncle Ho's Mausoleum stands on Hung Vuong Street, Ba Dinh District, a location considered the heart of the capital. The mausoleum is expansive and solemn, flanked by two straight and tall bamboo rows, surrounded by abundant flowers. We visited Ba Dinh Square, capturing memorable photos before marching solemnly to enter the mausoleum.
Inside, as we witnessed Uncle Ho lying peacefully, the emotions overwhelmed us. He is the great leader who bestowed upon us the peaceful and joyful life we have today. Though unspoken, in each heart lies deep love and profound gratitude.
The journey left us with many beautiful memories. If given the chance, I would return to explore Hanoi and discover the cultural beauty of this capital region.
2. City Journey, Sample 2 (Standard):
Born and raised in the countryside, every trip to the city brings me a sense of anticipation and joy.
For achieving top scores in the school-wide academic competition, my dad rewarded me with a trip to the city of Da Nang. As my family resides in the North, the journey took a lengthy 5 hours. We boarded the night bus, and by morning, we had arrived in Da Nang.
Da Nang surpassed my expectations, with its vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of Hanoi. However, the streets here are adorned with greenery, offering a refreshing and pleasant ambiance. Along the way, I admired the long coastline and glimpsed small fishing boats near the shore. The dynamic scenery was both vivid and unfamiliar to me. Next, we crossed the Dragon Bridge, a beautifully winding bridge with a dragon design.
Narrate a Distant Adventure in Da Nang
This trip was not only a reward from my dad but also an opportunity to visit relatives. My dad and I visited my uncle, who, due to circumstances and work commitments, hadn't returned home for many years. He warmly welcomed us, and the next morning, he took us to Linh Ung Pagoda, explored the ancient town of Hoi An, and enjoyed a day at the beach.
This journey has left me with numerous beautiful memories, moments that I'll cherish forever.
3. City Journey, Sample 3 (Standard):
If someone were to ask me about the most memorable trip, I would recount our family's excursion to Quang Binh.
To strengthen the bond among family members, our extended family organizes an annual vacation, and this year's destination was the city of Quang Binh.
Quang Binh, located in the central region of our country, has a lively and developed city center, not too different from my hometown, Hai Phong. The weather in Quang Binh is hotter than in the North, but as the evening approaches, the temperature becomes cool and pleasant.
Sharing the adventure to Quang Binh city, a place full of charm and history.
In Quang Binh, you can savor delightful dishes like banh xeo, banh bot loc, and delicious clam porridge. The streets are lined with fantastic eateries, and the locals are incredibly welcoming and friendly. On the second day, we left the city to visit Yen Island and pay our respects at the tomb of the great General Vo Nguyen Giap. The tomb, facing the vast sea, was a serene and contemplative spot, attracting not only us but also numerous other visitors.
Although our trip to Quang Binh was short, it left a profound impression on me. The coastal city, while not overly developed, boasts friendly and amiable locals.
