Prompt: Narrate the Innovations in Your Village or Neighborhood
Exploring the Evolution in Our Neighborhoods or Districts
1. Narrating Innovations in Our Locality, Sample 1:
With the influx of people from various provinces into the city in search of employment, the urban areas experienced a rapid population growth. The streets and alleys of my neighborhood were once filled with garbage, and people crammed into rented rooms. This was the scene in District 12, two years ago. Now, if you happen to visit District 12, Gò Vấp District, Ho Chi Minh City, where I reside, you will witness a much cleaner, spacious, and more civilized environment.
In response to environmental pollution and indiscriminate dumping of waste, the People's Committee and neighborhood committees in my area held meetings and initiated a street hygiene campaign. Every two weeks, each household appoints a laborer, and the entire neighborhood collaborates in cleaning under the guidance of the neighborhood chief.
Youth Brigade Takes on the Task of Cleaning Up Unused Lots Deemed Unconscious Dumping Sites. Security teams rigorously inspect residency permits, temporary absences, and registrations while closely monitoring the security situation in the ward. After the cleanup, the streets in my area seem to have donned a new attire—neat, clean, and more refined. Quang Trung Boulevard, the main road running through the ward and my daily route to school, now sparkles as if it were a holiday. The merchandise in stores is neatly arranged, with no street vendors or businesses encroaching onto the sidewalks. The scourges of drug abuse and robbery have significantly dwindled. The residents now exhibit a heightened sense of order and civility compared to before.
Moreover, the ward's youth union guides local youth in weekly activities. Our summer enjoyment has become more enriching, with a monthly summer outing for the ward's children. Retired officials engage in activities at the ward's retirees' club. Our ward is truly experiencing a more progressive way of life.
The positive changes in our ward contribute to the overall development of the city, making it wealthier, more beautiful, and cultured. I hope our ward can sustain this positive new way of life, providing all residents with a sense of security and contentment.
2. Narrating Innovations in Our Locality, Sample 2:
My neighborhood falls within the suburban limits of the city. It used to be part of a suburban commune but has now been upgraded to a ward. The main street running through my neighborhood has been freshly paved, and both sidewalks are adorned with new tiles. Numerous green trees have been planted, providing the street with a vibrant and cool atmosphere. Public hygiene is prioritized, ensuring the streets remain clean. Those who encroach upon the road and sidewalks for business must adhere to the general regulations. In the evening, as the streetlights on both sides illuminate and the lights of the houses sparkle, the neighborhood looks beautifully dazzling.
3. Narrating Innovations in Our Locality, Sample 3:
My hometown is in Ninh Hoa, known for its traditional craft villages producing handicrafts made from dried banana leaves, banana fibers, and bamboo. Over the past fifteen years, the handicraft industry in my hometown has truly transformed and flourished in the lives of the people.
Originating from a small cooperative, the Ninh Hoa Artisan Cooperative has achieved remarkable success. Securing raw materials from forest leaves: dried banana leaves, bamboo, banana leaf ropes, and banana stems, the cooperative sends experts to large workshops both domestically and internationally to research the production of handmade crafts using these materials. Thus, hats, woven baskets, floral mats, and cushions, made from these leafy materials, have been intricately developed and refined over time. A set of sedge chairs, woven from dried banana stems, is valued at up to two hundred million Vietnamese dong. Not stopping there, these unique artisan sedge products have penetrated the European market, bringing substantial profits to the cooperative and improving the lives of my fellow villagers. All products of the cooperative are handmade and exceptionally exquisite.
Today, anyone visiting the cooperative will witness the vibrant scene of diligent work by the cooperative members. In the spacious workshop, hundreds of members silently work, yet the atmosphere is lively: trucks bring in raw materials, and products are transported daily. In addition to the official workshop members, people receive processed banana leaf ropes, bamboo, and banana stems, diligently sitting to weave hats, baskets, and craft chairs. This is a common sight in my hometown of Ninh Hoa. Many families have prospered through the production of handmade crafts. People throughout the district register to receive materials from the cooperative and process them at home alongside their primary occupations. The cooperative has provided my fellow villagers with stable, lucrative jobs, improving their daily lives.
Beyond the added income, thanks to the handicraft industry, this supplementary profession serves as a lesson in honing human ingenuity, perseverance, and creativity. It instills in people an appreciation for aesthetics, a love for beauty, a passion for labor, and a love for life. I love observing the hands of my fellow villagers as they weave hats and craft baskets. I take pride in my hometown being renowned for producing exquisite handicrafts.
4. Narrating Innovations in Our Locality, Sample 4:
My hometown lies in a lowland region in the central part of Vietnam, where the sun shines abundantly and rains are frequent, leading to persistent floods. For years, the area faced poverty, food shortages, and inadequate clothing. Yet now, life has blossomed, bringing about significant changes in various aspects.
I vividly recall two years ago when I was still a first-grade student. Our school was a row of makeshift buildings with mud walls and old, worn-out desks and chairs. But now, at the same location, two L-shaped three-story buildings have emerged, elegant and modern. Two-seater desks, gleaming and fragrant with the scent of varnish, have replaced the old five-seater tables. The playground is smoothly paved with cement and adorned with refreshing rows of green trees. The village road has been widened, upgraded, and paved with glossy black asphalt. Notably, electricity has reached the village; two-thirds of households own televisions, lightning rods, and about one and a half-thirds have motorbikes. My family also recently purchased a Dream motorbike two months ago. Every Saturday night, my dad takes my mom and me for a stroll around the village. I love my hometown. The rural life I experience now is no less than what I see on TV in the city.
5. Narrating Innovations in Our Locality, Sample 5:
Xuân Sơn is a highland commune in Khanh Hoa province. The rampant unorganized deforestation in the past turned vast forests into barren hills. Over the last ten years, Xuân Sơn commune collaborated with the district forest ranger, initiating a reforestation campaign to cover the barren hills.
From Nha Trang City, following National Highway 1A, turning onto the west-north direction, we encounter Xuân Sơn commune. The first scenery that catches everyone's eyes is the newly planted pine forest on the hills near the highway. Originally, those forest areas were primeval forests with tall, majestic trees. In 1978 and 1979, deforestation for cultivation and illegal logging turned those forest areas into desolate rocky hills. Dried forests led to dried streams, causing droughts, and constant forest floods threatened the lives of residents on both sides of the Xuân Sơn hills. The Xuân Sơn commune committee mobilized the people to plant trees for reforestation. The forest ranger provided saplings, and the people received financial assistance and food to plant trees, restoring greenery to the barren hills. Replanting on vast, sprawling mountainsides, starting from scratch, made many villagers hesitant. The commune's forestry team chose a ten-hectare area as a pilot reforestation site. Seeing positive results, the community eagerly registered to follow suit. Over the past decade, Xuân Sơn commune has covered nearly all the barren hillsides, providing a relatively stable income for the people when selling the planted forests for timber in the autumn. The newly planted forests significantly reduce the spread of rampant deforestation.
