Netflix made waves at AnimeJapan 2022 by unveiling highlights from 40 exclusive anime for this year. The extensive list covers a wide range of genres, catering to both current fans and new enthusiasts.
The expanded list includes entertaining films like the modern Roman Bathhouse – premiering tomorrow, marking Netflix's first direct collaboration with the anime creator, Kotaro Lives Alone, and Rilakkuma: Adventure at the Amusement Park. The lineup also features family-friendly anime, such as the gravity-defying action blockbuster Bubble, which premiered at the 72nd Berlin Film Festival and will be on Netflix on April 28. Additionally, there are films produced by leading studios, like Colorido's Drifting House.

Netflix also announced the return of the beloved JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: STONE OCEAN, continuing with episodes 13-24 later this year.
Obara Kohei, Director of Netflix's Anime Creative Department, stated: 'Anime is one of the platforms we invest in heavily in Japan, with almost 90% of users watching anime here last year. At the same time, anime is gaining widespread popularity. Last year, over half of Netflix users worldwide watched this genre'.
'From diversifying the film list to reimagining fan-favorites, we want users to continue exploring and loving anime, both in Japan and globally, with the new era of anime development on Netflix.'
