The Netherlands is famously known as the country situated at the lowest altitude compared to sea level globally. It is not only renowned for its imagery of tulips, windmills, and centuries-old coastal defenses but also as a small nation with significant achievements.
Netherlands – Land Below Sea Level

There's even a province in the Netherlands formed from reclaimed land. Historically, much of this province's area was underwater, but the Dutch reclaimed it, establishing systems of dikes and land reclamation to increase landmass.

The Netherlands is highly acclaimed for its windmills; even to this day, over 1000 windmills have persisted since the 1850s. Windmills serve various purposes, from irrigation to grain milling. However, their primary function remains commercial and tourist attractions.
