New Salary Calculation Formula for Teachers from 20/3/2021
According to the latest guidelines from the Ministry of Education and Training, starting from March 20, 2021, teachers at all levels, including Preschool, Elementary, Middle, and High School, will enjoy the new salary coefficient. The changes in the salary coefficient applied from March 20 compared to the previous one, and the new salary calculation method for teachers, will be provided in this article.
1. Formula for calculating teacher's salary
A teacher's salary includes the total salary as per regulations (Base salary x salary coefficient) and allowances (preferential allowance, seniority allowance), minus the social insurance contribution. The actual salary received by the teacher is calculated according to the following formula:

- The basic salary in 2021 is $1,490 per month
- Salary coefficients:
+ Preschool teachers:
- Grade III preschool teachers have a salary coefficient ranging from 2.10 to 4.89;
- Grade II preschool teachers have a salary coefficient ranging from 2.34 to 4.98;
- Grade I preschool teachers have a salary coefficient ranging from 4.0 to 6.38.

+ Elementary school teachers:
- Grade III elementary school teachers have a salary coefficient ranging from 2.34 to 4.98
- Grade II elementary school teachers have a salary coefficient ranging from 4.0 to 6.38
- Grade I elementary school teachers have a salary coefficient ranging from 4.4 to 6.78
