As of April 13, CNN reports from Sightsmap.com indicate New York City as the top choice for photography enthusiasts worldwide.

This finding is based on data from Google-owned Panoramio.com, which maps and shares geo-tagged photos.

Sightsmap.com and Panoramio reveal rankings for over 15,000 cities and attractions, identifying the most favored spots for photo sharing.

European cities dominate the list, with Italy alone claiming three spots in the top ten, including Rome at number two. Barcelona, Spain, and Paris, France, follow closely in third and fourth place, respectively.

In Paris, the Moulin Rouge, not the Eiffel Tower, emerges as the most photographed and shared location on Panoramio.

The Empire State Building, despite its 102 stories, is not the most photographed in New York. The Guggenheim Museum takes that spot, possibly due to the challenging angles at the Empire State for visitors.

This survey reveals a fresh perspective on the 'travel map on Panoramio', highlighting the world's most attractive cities and their appeal to photographers.
