Manufactured by Huawei, the Nexus 6P is hailed as the 'pinnacle of smartphones' by Google. It marks the first Nexus model with a full metal design, boasting dual front speakers and a rear fingerprint sensor for convenient unlocking and secure transactions via Android Pay and the Play Store.
The Nexus 6P truly shines with its 12.3MP resolution camera, f/2.0 aperture, and large pixel size ensuring excellent photo quality even in low-light conditions. Google emphasizes its optimization for indoor photography, supporting slow-motion and 4K video recording. Additionally, the Nexus 6P features an 8MP front camera.
The device adopts the new-generation USB Type-C connector, allowing for reversible plugging in both orientations, a feature gradually gaining popularity. Google has announced official support for USB Type-C on Android Marshmallow - the latest version of Android pre-installed on the Nexus 6P upon release.
The Nexus 6P also supports fast charging, advertised to be more than twice as fast as the iPhone 6 Plus. Though Google didn't provide specific details, according to Wired, the device is equipped with high-end hardware such as the octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chip, 3GB of RAM, and a large 3450mAh battery capacity.
Google is now accepting pre-orders for the Nexus 6P starting today in select countries (US, UK, Ireland, Japan). The device will be delivered to customers by the end of October. In the coming weeks, the Nexus 6P will be available in other markets. The price for the Nexus 6P starts at $499 for the 32GB model, increasing to $549 for the 64GB model and $649 for the 128GB model. All models are unlocked.
